A (Slightly Distracted) Welcome
Hello, and welcome!
Make yourself comfy.
Snuggle under some blankets, maybe?
I personally am eating a bowl of Cheetos.
No matter the purpose you have on this blog(like me, you could simply be distracted by links...), I wish that you would leave with more hope than when you first arrived.
Unless you just watched a Netflix Documentary. Then I'm not so sure.
My site doesn't do too much, but if it led you here then I hope you are interested in being part of We are the Future.
DO NOT WORRY: being 'part' of WF DOES NOT include responsibility.
I am 97.3% sure of this.
Also... WF is a weird acronym. I should have planned better.
BACK TO SERIOUSNESS:
Our climate is worsening, there is a pandemic in our midst, there is unrest and fear across our world... There are so many reasons to feel scared and alone.
Fear seems to increase in me when I think of the world 'at large', with all its problems.
I feel so helpless.
And then there are so many things to do - to NOT make us feel helpless: go vegetarian, buy less, be healthy, educate yourself...
THAT pressure just makes me want to scream.
STOP TELLING ME STUFF, WORLD!
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
We have SO MANY pressures, we have SO MUCH helplessness... and so we feel alone.
But I wish this would not be the case. I believe that on this site/blog/whatever, and outside of it also, if we can connect in our communal hopes for the future, meaningful change can occur.
There are ways to solve climate change, to improve these issues that seem so overwhelming when we face them alone. We've actually known about them for awhile, but they just seem so overwhelming. Together this can happen.
Together, too, we can work for meaningful change without the societal pressures to be fit, organized, successful, and impressive.
We are the future, each unique and beautiful and impressive.
So society can shut right up.
If you read this far, I hope that you feel at least a twinge of inspiration to change the problems weighing on your heart. I have no doubt, whoever you are, that you can do amazing things(that you are amazing things) - but together we can unite all our diverse and wonderful selves.
That, to me, is hopeful.
Best wishes,
